Description
This painting symbolizes the untouched pages of our Book of Deeds—pure, unmarked, yet to be filled. It represents the journey of life where every action, every choice, inscribes itself onto these blank pages. The Qur’an reminds us that on the Day of Judgment, our deeds will be laid bare—some will rejoice as they receive their record in their right hand, while others will grieve, hiding their book given in the left.
But today, the book remains unwritten. We hold the pen, shaping our destiny with righteousness or heedlessness. The empty pages are a reminder that we are still in control, that the story of our soul is yet to be uncovered.
1. The Joy of the Righteous (Right Hand)
“So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, ‘Here, read my record! Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account.’ So he will be in a pleasant life – in an elevated garden, its fruit hanging near. [They will be told:] ‘Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past.’”
— (Surah Al-Haqqah 69:19-24)
2. The Regret of the Wrongdoers (Left Hand)
“But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, ‘Oh, I wish I had not been given my record! And had not known what my account is. I wish it (death) had been the decisive one. My wealth has not availed me. My authority has gone from me.’”
— (Surah Al-Haqqah 69:25-29)
